FAQ
Do gift cards have expiration dates or non-use fees?
We recognize the importance of consumer awareness regarding all gift cards. Please read the Terms and Conditions printed on the back of your commissary gift card and noted below.
Purchase or use of this card constitutes acceptance of the following terms: CARD AND FUNDS EXPIRE FIVE (5) YEARS FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE. The amount contained on this gift card may be redeemed for authorized merchandise only at Defense Commissary Agency stores. This card cannot be redeemed for cash or credit. This card cannot be replaced if lost, stolen or damaged. Resale of this card is prohibited without consent. This card is issued by Defense Commissary Agency and administered by Geo. Mijilem & Co. For balance inquiries, please check your last receipt or visit www.decacards.com. For customer service, please contact info@decacards.com.
Can I use the card more than once?
Yes. Commissary gift cards are "multi-use cards", which means that you can use them on more than one occasion.
Multi-use cards will decrease in value each time that you use them, until the balance on the card is zero. After the balance is zero, you can either reload the gift card or simply dispose of it properly. A gift card can be reloaded at any participating commissary location.
Who should I contact if I have a question, comment or concern about a gift card?
Please send an email to info@decacards.com for customer service help.
Will DeCA replace my gift card if it is lost or stolen?
No. DeCA is not responsible for lost or stolen gift cards.
How can I return a damaged card or a card with a balance that will not work?
Please send the full nineteen-digit gift card number to info@decacards.com. Please note the issue you are experiencing. We will check the balance and replace a damaged or otherwise unusable card so long as the reasoning is validated. We reserve the right to not replace cards where validation is not achieved.
Do you provide refunds for purchased gift cards?
Remaining card balances may be subject to a refund as required by law. Please send your request to info@decacards.com.
Can I receive cash back when I make a purchase with a gift card or redeem my gift card for cash?
No. Cash back is not an option at commissary locations, nor can gift cards be redeemed for cash. Gift cards have a declining balance. In other words, the amount available on the card is reduced each time it is used, until the card shows a zero balance.
However, the program administrator, Geo. Mijilem & Co., will provide guidance on receiving the remaining balance on your gift card as a refund as noted in the previous question.
Can the commissary refuse to accept my gift card?
The commissary has the right not to accept any gift card that appears to be altered, copied or reproduced. The commissary may also refuse to accept your gift card if it does not scan on the register and the card number is illegible or missing.
How can I check my gift card’s balance?
A cashier can look up your balance at any manned register. You can also obtain your gift card balance by visiting www.commissaries.com/giftcard.
