This policy governs the manner in which we (Geo. Mijilem & Company, Inc., the DeCA Commissary Card Administrator) handles the information you provide (or we collect) during your visits to or purchases from our website.
When you purchase or attempt to purchase from our web site, we may need to know your name, e-mail address, mailing address, telephone number, credit card number, security code, and expiration date. This information, which is considered personally identifiable information (“PII”), allows us to quickly and accurately process and ship your order, notify you of your order status, provide you with better customer service support, and generally enhance your on-line purchasing experience.
Whether or not you purchase from our web site, we monitor visitors to our web site from time to time, and collect information regarding their visits including: how many visits discrete users made; what portions of our web site they viewed or accessed and when; the percentage of people that purchased products after viewing certain portions of our web site; the names of other web sites visitors have visited; and visitors’ IP addresses. We use this information to help us improve our products and services, and enhance visitors’ on-line experience. This information is not PII.
Use or Disclosure of Information
We recognize that the PII referenced above is very sensitive. We do not keep any PII in our databases after your order is attempted or submitted, except for your email address, phone number and address. In particular, no payment information is stored in our databases after your order is submitted. We also typically retain purchasers’ and attempted purchasers’ IP addresses for the purpose of detecting fraud. We, however, do not sell, trade or rent your PII to others.
Although we may provide aggregate statistics about our customers, sales, traffic patterns, and related site information to reputable third-party vendors or business partners, these statistics do not include PII.
Finally, as indicated above, we do maintain a record of purchasers’ and attempted purchasers’ email addresses, phone numbers, addresses and, typically, IP addresses. Again, we necessarily use your email address, phone number and address to communicate with you in reference to orders made via the web site. We will not sell, trade or rent this information to others. We do, however, occasionally use your email address to send out electronic communications to you about our products and services, either directly or indirectly through reputable agents who assist us. Whether they come directly from us or indirectly from our vendors, such electronic communications include a link allowing you to opt out from receiving such communications in the future. In addition, if you would like to opt out of receiving such communications in advance, or request that we not maintain a record of your email address, you may contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Accessing, Correcting and Updating Information
Should you wish to access any of the information that we maintain to correct or update it, you may do so by sending an e-mail inquiry to email@example.com.
